a film-performance with home movies of my grandmother’s childhood rephotographed onto Super-8 film. In performance, I splice the film strip into a long continuous loop and dance with it as it goes through the projector, pulling, burning, and breaking it in the process. Loop explores film as a material that can burn and warp like our bodies and memories, like those of my grandmother and the nostalgia for the America we both were raised in.
